An ocean liner in the mountains

Aime 2000 has towered over La Plagne for more than half a century: a concrete ship stranded in front of Mont Blanc.

Le Paquebot des Neiges (the Snow Liner) is the building that towers over Plagne Aime 2000, at 2,100 m. Its nickname comes from its silhouette of a great ship, its stepped terraces recalling the decks of a transatlantic liner.

It was designed by Michel Bezançon, La Plagne's architect, who imagined the resort as an integrated whole, planned so that skiers could set off straight from their front door.

A whole village under one roof, skis on your feet.
